Background

Bulenga Youth Development Association is situated at Bulenga village in Wakiso District just 8km from the capital city Kampala. The village has a population of approximately 25,000 people of which almost half of them are youth who are sustained by activities like brick laying, medium capital retail businesses, subsistence farming eg livestock for which the surplus is soldoff and a few who have had chance of formal education in high schools access professional jobs from the city centre. This therefore comes to our concern to come together and form an association that could help bring together all those unprivillaged youth participate in difererent activities so as to alleviate poverty and reduce on the unemployment factor.

Objectives

1. Empowering members who have had little or even no education to acquire basic skills in the fields of Carpentry, Metal Fabrication, and Animal Raring/Husbandry.
2. Helping members acquire Employment Opportunities that may help them earn incomes that can help them to at least fulfill their goals.
3. Empowering members with HIV/AIDS Sensitization Programmes. Considering the fact that the disease is at arise in these countries, it comes to our concern to teach members all the preventive measures.
4. Empowering members with the basic information communication techinology. This is very important because all people need to have access to Computer Communication so as to compete favourably with other youth in the outside world.
5. Empowering members with the basic managerial skills. It is very important for the members to learn how to manage their finances for their bright future.
